This site was borne out of a common situation: Non-marketers who need to convince people to do or care about something and don’t necessarily know how. For many, marketing is a four-letter word that implies the selling of a product. No one wants to think of work like yours as a product that requires selling, so don’t think of it like that. Instead, just think of what you offer as something of value, and part of your job is to communicate that value. There’s nothing skeezy about that.
This is not meant to be exhaustive by any stretch. Where possible, we’ve included links to resources that are more exhaustive in case you want a deeper dive. Apart from that, we’ve tried to give you the broad strokes of these areas, along with some basic tips and tricks — all while trying to apply our understanding of your specific world.
Some of what you need won’t be here, at least at first. That’s okay, because we’re going to keep adding to and improving this site through 2016.
